My cousin Dorothy was a member of the Turner family of Blackburn, Lancs. Her father Tom was my father James’ brother. Dorothy and Sam visited us in Clitheroe frequently and I have many happy memories of those times, and when they moved to Weston-super-Mare and later to Durham.

We have included a gallery photograph, taken today, of a Weigela shrub. This cherished gift was grown from a cutting from their garden in Weston, it is now just coming into bloom in our garden in Hertfordshire.

Tony and I are grateful to David for keeping us informed on Dorothy’s wellbeing in later years and send him our sincere condolences at this sad time.
